Handmade colourful wall pieces that enhance acoustics, adds colour and softness into your work- and living spaces.
Growing Textiles started in 2014 when textile designers Noortje de Brouwer and
Mieke van den Hout developed a technique to process big amounts of waste wool into a new way of furniture upholstery.
The idea arose to scale it up and convert this technique into sound absorbing wall pieces.
Growing Textiles is handmade with European sheep wool and a stretch textile in a colour of your choice. It is made to order in various shapes with a max. of 130 cm wide.
All components of a Growing Textiles work can be disassembled from one another and are recyclable, keeping the concept of circularity in mind.
Every work is a one of a kind, numbered and made with love and care at Arnhem based Studio Mieke Lucia.
Please take notice that Studio Mieke Lucia has relocated to a smaller studio and is no longer accepting inquiries for large size works. Feel free to get in touch to discuss the options.
